Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin expresses concern over possible reduction in the number of Members of Parliament from the state
Chennai: Following the effectiveness of population control measures, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has voiced worries over a possible decrease in the state’s number of Members of Parliament (MPs).

CM Stalin addressed the issue, stating, “India’s main objective was to manage its population. In this regard, Tamil Nadu has had great success. Tamil Nadu’s population is declining, which might lead to a reduction in the number of parliamentary seats in the state.
Stalin underlined that Tamil Nadu would lose representation in Parliament, perhaps lowering its existing number of Members of Parliament from 39 to only 31 if the population keeps dropping.
Following a recent incident in which Hindi lettering was purportedly placed on name boards at a railway station in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu, by Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) workers, BJP leader Tamilisai Soundarajan criticized Chief Minister MK Stalin, claiming that the ruling party could no longer rely on language politics.
This occurs in the middle of the continuing dispute over the three-language National Education Policy (NEP) between Tamil Nadu and the Center.
“I condemn the attitude of DMK workers, erasing the Hindi words with black tar,” Tamilisai Soundarajan said. This property belongs to the public. The state is also seeing visitors from the North. All of the states are connected by railway. What power do you have to remove words in Hindi? All ministers’ children and grandkids attend CBSE schools and are learning three languages. I blatantly demand that MK Stalin provide the number of youngsters in your and your ministers’ households who are only learning two languages. And why do all of your ministers, including your relatives, manage CBSE schools?
She further said that the DMK preferred Hindi for economic purposes but did not want another language for the sake of underprivileged children.
“The public’s interests are being politicized here. People are becoming aware of the DMK’s double standards. Some kids had communication issues when they traveled to Punjab and Varanasi. They are no longer able to profit from linguistic politics. “They are using language politics to conceal other problems in Tamil Nadu,” she remarked.
