21-year-old student in Pune tried to commit suicide by jumping from metro station
Pune: According to police, a 21-year-old student tried to end his life by leaping from a metro station in the district’s Pimpri Chinchwad neighborhood.

At about 6 p.m. on Monday, the student, who is now enrolled in DY Patil College’s Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) program in Pimpri Chinchwad, attempted suicide by leaping from Sant Tukaram Nagar Metro Station, according to the police.
He was in serious condition when he was brought to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital.
“The precise reason for the suicide attempt is unknown, but his friends informed me that he was under some financial problems and had pressure from his family,” said Senior Police Inspector Ashok Kadlag of Pimpri Chinchwad Police.
“The youngster is in serious condition at YCM Hospital after the event, which happened at approximately 6 p.m. We’re looking into it,” he said.
