The incident happened at a crossroads around 200 meters from the campus at about 10:30 p.m., according to the police.

According to preliminary findings, the incident could have been the result of a fight between the two pupils. A final-year engineering student was the casualty.

Due to a long-standing personal conflict, the accused, 23-year-old T. Lamsang Swal, a third-year B.Tech Civil Engineering student from the same campus, reportedly stabbed him.

Outside of the collegiate dorm, the two students shared a rental home. The two were allegedly drinking beer in their leased apartment the night of the incident, along with a few companions. According to authorities, after a furious disagreement became violent, the accused called Valentine to Nedumparambu Junction, where he fatally stabbed him in the chest with a knife.

The presence of more pupils at the site has been confirmed by police using CCTV video of the event. According to the FIR, Lamsang committed the act out of animosity. The cops are now doing more investigation.
