Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa hits out at Congress leader Alka Lamba’s ‘photo-op’ remark on Yamuna cleanup efforts
New Delhi: Congresswoman Alka Lamba’s “photo-op” comment on the Yamuna cleanup efforts drew criticism from Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Friday. “The’mentality’ of Congress led its leaders to make such statements,” Sirsa stated.

“Two kinds of people go to temples: those who have faith and those who go to steal ‘chappals,'” he told the media report. Chapal thieves believe that everyone else is there to do the same. It is their mindset, not Congress’s or the AAP’s problem.”
We have a lot of meetings scheduled today, so I may not be able to lead. The CM has scheduled a meeting to talk about gas cylinders, free subsidies for women, and ways to cut pollution. Tomorrow, I’ll be in control,” he continued.
Alka Lamba, a former Delhi MLA, thanked Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta yesterday, stating that she has a great deal of responsibility since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) still controls both the state and the federal government. Lamba previously made fun of the BJP by claiming that the Yamuna River’s machine cleaning was just done for pictures.
“Rekha Gupta deserves my congratulations since she now has a lot of responsibilities. The BJP has been in power at the center and keeps making promises. Delhi’s seven MLAs are all BJP members. Now that they are in control in Delhi as well, let’s see what they do to clean up Yamuna. Lamba told ANI, “At the moment, I believe that all of the machinery cleaning Yamuna and everything else there is being done just for photo ops.”
One of the major concerns in the most recent assembly election was Yamuna pollution. Notably, the departments of Food and Supplies, Forest and Environment, and Industries have been given to Manjinder Singh Sira, BJP MLA from Rajouri Garden.
At a gathering with supporters on Friday, Rekha Gupta, the just sworn-in Delhi Chief Minister, thanked them and said that the AAP had “blocked” the Ayushman Bharat initiative during the first cabinet meeting.
The chief minister of Delhi also spoke about the other topics that would be covered in the next cabinet sessions.
“In yesterday’s cabinet meeting, we approved the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which was blocked by the AAP,” Gupta told reporters. The plan will soon be available to the whole public. We have invited the Jal Board and PWD representatives to a meeting with the cabinet today. We’ll handle the pothole problem.”
Many people came outside CM Rekha Gupta’s Shalimar Bagh home on Friday to meet her, demonstrating her interaction with the public. To congratulate her, people arrived with flower bouquets and garlands. On February 20, Rekha Gupta was sworn in as the ninth chief minister of Delhi in a lavish event held at Ramlila Maidan.
