President Donald Trump officially signs the commission to confirm Kash Patel as the ninth director of the FBI
Washington, DC: On Thursday, White House Deputy Chief of Staff and Assistant to the President Dan Scavino announced that US President Donald Trump has formally signed the commission to appoint Kash Patel as the FBI’s ninth director. Scavino said that at a ceremony in the Oval Office, President Trump signed Patel’s commission.

Assistant to the President and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino shared a post on X that said, “Just a few moments ago in the Oval Office. Kudos to Kash Patel, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s ninth director.

The White House hailed Kash Patel’s confirmation as the next director of the FBI, calling it a critical step in carrying out President Donald Trump’s plan to restore integrity and enforce the rule of law.
The White House also emphasized that the FBI would now return to its primary goal of impartially and fairly upholding the law.

“The FBI will serve the American people and refocus on its core mission: enforcing justice fairly and without bias,” the announcement said.
President Trump supporter Patel thanked the Senate after being confirmed by the Senate on Thursday to lead the FBI and pledged to transform the organization into one that is “transparent, accountable, and committed to justice.”
Patel emphasized his dedication to rebuilding public confidence in the FBI and thanked Attorney General Pam Bondi and President Donald Trump for their assistance.
The remainder of the Republican Party, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who had previously blocked other Trump nominations, supported Patel, despite Republican Senators Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska opposing the candidacy, according to NBC News.
All of the Senate Democrats voted against him, and the confirmation was approved by a slim 51-49 majority.
