According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), CM Fadnavis was speaking at an event in Agra commemorating the Maratha monarch Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s 395th birthday.

He said that the state government will purchase property for the construction of a monument in the area known as Meena Bazaar and that he would discuss this matter with his Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

“Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was held captive at Agra Kothi, now known as Meena Bazaar, where a stately monument will be built. The land will be purchased by the Maharashtra government. A majestic statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be present. CM Fadnavis said, “I will personally speak with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.”

Earlier, at the Shivneri fort in Junnar, Maharashtra, Fadnavis attended the commemoration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s 395th birth anniversary with Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar.

Speaking to the people on the occasion, CM Fadnavis pledged to expand his forts and eradicate encroachment.

“I offer my greetings to all citizens on the anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s birth,” Fadnavis remarked. We come here each year to help Maharashtra by drawing inspiration from this fort.

In addition to being a skilled warrior, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was also an effective administrator. All his forts will be developed by us. To clear the encroachment from every fort, we are forming a task team.

Shivneri is one of the twelve forts that the Maharashtra government has submitted to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, according to Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

By placing a tilak of soil from Shivaji Maharaj’s fort, we promise to continue working for Maharashtra’s growth till the day we die. We always experience a distinct vibe and are inspired when we come here. Shivneri is one of the twelve forts being handed to UNESCO. Even abroad, people commemorate the anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s birth. Agra, Uttar Pradesh, is also celebrating it,” Shinde remarked.

Ajit Pawar, the deputy chief minister, also emphasized Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy and his inspiring impact on society.

Every year, thousands of people come to pay their respects at Shivneri Fort. Every person is inspired by a number of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s forts. We shall make sure there is never a shortage of money for the construction of Shivaji Maharaj’s forts. We continue to be inspired to strive in accordance with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s social justice and good governance,” Pawar said.

On February 19, 1630, Shivaji Maharaj was born in Pune’s Shivneri Fort. The Maratha Empire was established by the Indian warrior ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the 17th century. In Indian history, he is regarded as one of the greatest warriors.

After a bloody battle with the Mughals in 1670, he established the Maratha Empire in western India in 1674. For the local population, Shivaji Maharaj constructed a comprehensive civil code in addition to a well-structured administrative apparatus.

Honoring the great warrior’s role in the restoration of the Maratha Empire and acknowledging his vast legacy are the main goals of the day.
