Based on intelligence input, DRI Mumbai arrest Congolese national trying to smuggle drugs into India
Mumbai: On Wednesday, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) Mumbai arrested a Congolese citizen who was trying to import drugs into India via Mumbai Airport based on intelligence information.

During interrogation, the traveler acknowledged consuming capsules containing illegal substances in order to smuggle them into India. She appeared before the Honorable Magistrate and was admitted to a local government hospital in accordance with the court’s decision, according to authorities.
The accused was taken into custody under the NDPS Act after cocaine-filled pills were found.
The passenger removed 10 pills carrying 544 grams of cocaine—worth Rs 5.44 crore on the black market—during medical procedures.
“The contraband was seized under the NDPS Act, 1985, and the passenger was arrested under its provisions,” said the DRI.
