FBI director-nominee Kash Patel makes progress with procedural vote in Senate
Washington, DC: According to The New York Post, Kash Patel, the nominee for director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), advanced Tuesday with a procedural vote in the Senate, garnering strong support from Republicans who are optimistic that President Donald Trump‘s choice will be confirmed later this week.

According to sources cited by The New York Post, the Senate passed the nominee 48-45 along party lines, beginning a 30-hour discussion process before Patel is anticipated to get final confirmation on Thursday.
In reference to the Capitol Riots on January 6, he reaffirmed his strong opposition to violence at the Senate confirmation hearings on January 30, stressing that such acts must never be accepted.
Anyone who uses violence against police officers should be looked into, charged, and put in jail, he said.
“Since January 6, I have stated both publicly and privately that violence against law enforcement can never be tolerated,” Patel stated at the Senate confirmation hearings. Additionally, everyone who uses violence against police enforcement needs to be looked into, charged, and put in jail.
In addition, Patel reiterated his dedication to exposing government wrongdoing, referring to public service as a privilege and promising to keep holding authorities responsible.
“I made the same statement about activities against law enforcement on January 6… Since it is an honor to serve our country, I have been the first to expose any wrongdoing in government service, and I will keep doing so,” Patel said.
If approved as one of the country’s top law enforcement officials, the candidate, who has praised rank-and-file FBI agents for being “courageous, apolitical warriors of justice,” would hold office for ten years, according to The New York Post.
Kash Patel was President Trump’s deputy assistant and the Chief of Staff of the Department of Defense (DoD). Operating a USD 740 billion budget, USD 2 trillion in assets, and executing the Secretary’s no-fail mission with our 3 million+ workers were among his duties as DoD’s Chief of Staff.
As the Deputy Assistant to the President on the National Security Council (NSC), he oversaw President Trump’s counterterrorism mission and assisted him in achieving his major goals, which included safely repatriating scores of American captives and destroying the senior leadership of ISIS and Al-Qa’ida. In his capacity as the White House’s senior counterterrorism officer, Kash was in charge of developing and carrying out our country’s homeland security policy by supervising the interagency execution of the national CT plan.
