BJP leader KK Sharma criticized CM Mamata Banerjee’s ‘Mrityu Kumbh’ statement
New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s “Mrityu Kumbh” comment was criticized by BJP leader KK Sharma on Tuesday, claiming that it offends the religious beliefs of millions of Hindus.

Millions of Hindus are having their faith damaged by the manner in which the members of the INDIA Alliance, particularly the Congress Party, Samajwadi Party, RJD, and Mamata Banerjee, are stirring up controversy around Kumbh. Regarding such remarks, the Bharatiya Janata Party is rather outspoken. It condemns them and the nation’s citizens, and Hindus would never approve of it either,” Sharma told the media report.
The spiritual gathering in Prayagraj was dubbed “Mrityu Kumbh” by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who voiced grave reservations about the way Mahakumbh was being handled.
Speaking to the Legislative Assembly, the chief minister of West Bengal conveyed her admiration for the sacred Ganga Maa and the importance of the Mahakumbh. However, she also blasted the organizers for the poor planning that led to the crushes at Prayagraj on January 29 and the New Delhi Railway Station on February 15.
“This is ‘Mrityu Kumbh,'” Mamata Banerjee said in her statement. I honor the sacred Ganga Maa and Maha Kumbh. However, there isn’t any preparation. How many individuals have been brought back to health?
“There are systems available to get camps (tents) for as high as Rs 1 lakh for the rich, the VIP,” she said, highlighting the difference between the accommodations made for the rich and the poor. At Kumbh, there are no provisions for the underprivileged.
According to Banerjee, “A stampede situation is common in a ‘mela,’ but it is important to make arrangements.” What preparations did you make?
Suvendu Adhikari and other BJP MLAs in the West Bengal State Assembly organized rallies in response to her comments. The gathering expressed their disapproval of the CM’s comments and sang slogans.
Adhikari urged the communities of Hindus and saints to voice their strong opposition.
“I urge the Hindu and saint communities to register a strong protest,” he stated. This is ‘Mrityu Kumbh,’ not Maha Kumbh, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on the floor of the State Assembly a short time ago. Speak out against this assault on Maha Kumbh and Hinduism.
