Vijayta Pandit said this big thing about Rishi Kapoor-Dimple Kapadia, Sunny Deol-Amrita Singh, Sanjay Dutt-Tina Munim
Recently, Vijayta Pandit, who costarred with Kumar Gaurav in Love Story (1981), revealed more about their actual relationship. The actor was betrothed to Raj Kapoor’s daughter Reema, but he was prepared to wed Vijayta despite resistance from Kumar Gaurav’s father, Rajendra Kumar.
During an interview with Lehren Retro, Vijayta discussed how romantic film sets can cause actors to experience genuine emotions. She cited off-screen romances like Sunny Deol and Amrita Singh and Rishi Kapoor and Dimpe Kapadia as examples.
She described how her relationship with Kumar Gaurav developed during the filming of Love Story, saying, “The first male I embraced on the Love Story set was Bunty, who is Kumar Gaurav. Every love story you see, whether it’s Bobby by Rishi Kapoor and Dimpe Kapadia, Betaab by Sunny Deol and Amrita Singh, or Rocky by Sanjay Dutt and Tina Munim, has performers who fell in love in real life. We both fell in love since it was the first time a male had touched me, so you have to get into these kinds of movies and experience the romance.”
“Bunty used to be a very charming boy; he would keep following me, holding my hands, and dancing. He was very fond of me,” she went on. But our connection infuriated his father and Rajendra Kumar, the film’s producer. He would tell Bunty that he was his prince and that he need to wed a princess while sipping booze.
He promised to locate his son a girl who comes from a well-known family. I used to be very afraid when I heard all of this, but Bunty would fight back and tell his dad how much he loved me; they used to fight and drink together, and I would attempt to leave the situation.”
Rajendra Kumar, on the other hand, was against their union and preferred that his son wed a member of a wealthy family. As a result, Kumar Gaurav and Reema Kapoor got engaged.
Kumar Gaurav kept going to Vijayta’s residence, telling her that he would marry her, even after they became engaged. But then everything changed when Vijayta found out that Kumar Gaurav had broken off his engagement to Reema in order to have an affair with Namrata Dutt. Vijayta made it clear that she wasn’t involved in the split.
