Following an assault on Pakistani troops between Tuesday and Wednesday night, according to local sources cited by TBP, Pakistani security forces detained four people and relocated them to an unknown location, leaving the helicopters hovering above the town.
According to TBP, Ibrahim, son of Ali; Farooq, son of Abdul Hameed; Ilyas, son of Abdul Hameed; and Faris, son of Muhammad Karim, have been identified as the missing individuals. All of them hail from the Tump town of Dazin. Notably, Farooq and Ilyas had already been freed after their violent kidnapping.
TBP claimed that helicopters are still operating in the region and that a sizable number of Pakistani military are advancing in Tump.
Previously, a number of Baloch cities had demonstrations calling for an end to alleged enforced disappearances, extrajudicial executions, and the kidnapping of Baloch women.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) organized rallies around the region, and Baloch students in Islamabad and Uthal participated in peaceful demonstrations, according to The Balochistan Post. Businesses in Kalat, Mastung, and other cities stayed closed in solidarity during shutter-down strikes.
Protesters demanded that the UN and human rights groups step in and hold Pakistani politicians responsible. Families of missing people came to Quetta to participate in a protest march organized by the BYC. While yelling anti-enforced disappearance chants and urging foreign institutions to pay attention, protesters displayed pictures of their loved ones.
The Balochistan Post said that BYC leaders accused the Pakistani government of using targeted executions and enforced disappearances to persecute Baloch intellectuals, students, and youth. Residents, activists, and relatives of the missing gathered for a three-day protest camp on Sunday at Shaheed Fida Chowk in Turbat.
