Amanatullah Khan was also the subject of a formal complaint for allegedly threatening and abusing police officers and obstructing their ability to execute the accused.

Sections 221, 121(1), 132, 191(2), 190, 263(b), 351(3), and 111 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) have been used to register the case.

The event happened on February 10 at about 3 p.m. when the Delhi Police Crime Branch team went to the Jogabai Extension neighborhood of Jamia Nagar to apprehend Shavej Khan, one of the defendants in an attempted murder case from 2018.

He refused to answer any questions when the police team tried to question him, and by the time Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan showed up there with his twenty to twenty-five followers, he was attempting to intimidate the officers.

Khan and his followers continued to claim that “they don’t value courts” and police, according to the FIR. Shavej, the accused, was taken alongside Khan and his followers as they pushed and assaulted the police squad.

Amantullah Khan and his followers are accused in the FIR of attempting to stop the police from carrying out their duties and getting into a fight. Since the incident, Khan has been evading capture.

A formal complaint has been filed against him under many provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS) for allegedly impeding a suspect’s apprehension and allowing him to evade capture.

A group of police officers visited Khan’s home on Monday in relation to accusations made against him and his followers.

Police claim that when a crime branch team went to the Jamia Nagar neighborhood to apprehend Shavez Khan, an accused person in a 2018 attempted murder case, they discovered that the accused had left the area.

In relation to the accused escaping from detention, the police are now tracking down and questioning Amanatullah Khan.

Further inquiry is being conducted on Shavez Khan’s recent disappearance, according to Ravi Kumar Singh, the Deputy Commissioner of Police for South East Delhi.

“A Crime Branch squad had arrived to apprehend Shavez Khan, a convicted criminal. Amanatullah Khan and his followers came here and released him while he was being interrogated. Since then, he (Shavez Khan) has been evading capture. We are pursuing legal action. We’ll take any required legal steps. Although attempts are being made to get in touch with him (Amanatullah Khan), they have not yet been successful.”The inquiry is in progress,” DCP Singh informed the media report.

By an overwhelming majority of 23,639 votes, Amanatullah Khan, the AAP MLA from Okhla, was able to hold onto his seat.

But in the Delhi assembly elections, his party, the AAP, lost badly, losing just 22 seats, a significant decrease from the previous total of 62. After 27 years, the BJP returned to power in the nation’s capital with a victory of 48 seats.
