Karnataka Government and Liverpool University sign MoU to promote greater collaboration in education and research
Bengaluru: To promote increased collaboration in research and education, the University of Liverpool and the Karnataka government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). At Cauvery, the official house of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Friday.

The signing event was attended by CM Siddaramaiah, Minister for Large and Medium Industries MB Patil, Minister of Higher Education MC Sudhakar, University of Liverpool Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tariq Ali and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tim Jones.
Director of the British Council Division Janaka Pushpanathan, Deputy Head of Mission James Godber of the British Deputy High Commission, Vice-Chancellor Tim Jones, and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Tariq Ali of the University of Liverpool signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
In order to further the relationship, the MoU seeks to create a joint working group, improve cooperation in research and innovation endeavors, and enhance cooperation in education.

Selvakumar, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, Department of Commerce and Industries; Gunjan Krishna, IAS, Commissioner for Industrial Development, Department of Commerce and Industries; KG Chandrasekhar, Executive Director, Karnataka Higher Education Council; LK Atheeq, Additional Chief Secretary to CM Siddaramaiah; and others were in attendance.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah introduced the 16th Bengaluru International Film Festival’s logo at Cauvery Residence earlier on February 7.
According to an official release, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar was also present on this occasion along with other dignitaries.
From March 1 to 8, Bengaluru will host the 16th Bengaluru International Film Festival.
According to the Karnataka CM media group, the festival would include 200 films in many languages, including Kannada, at 13 theaters and involve over 60 countries.
On March 1, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will officially launch the celebration.
According to reports, there will be 14 divisions at the forthcoming event, with three of them being competitive categories: Asian, Indian, and Kannada. Films from obscure languages, biopics, Kannada popular cinema, FIPRESCI Critics Week, and modern global cinema are among the other categories.
A variety of scholarly activities, including masterclasses, workshops, and seminars, will also be held throughout the festival with the goal of advancing the understanding of students, viewers, and filmmakers. By means of these scholarly endeavors, BIFFes aims to foster a more profound comprehension of film art, medium, market trends, and historical turning points in modern cinema.
