A case has been registered against AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya for misbehaving with a woman
New Delhi: According to Delhi Police officials on Wednesday, Dinesh Mohaniya, an MLA for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has been charged with mistreating a lady by making indecent gestures and blowing flying kisses at her. The AAP MLA from Sangam Vihar is the subject of a complaint filed by the Delhi police under several BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita) provisions.
“After AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya gave her a flying kiss, a lady filed a complaint against him at the Sangam Vihar Police Station. According to Delhi Police sources, Delhi Police filed a complaint under sections 323/341/509. This accusation was made during the current assembly elections in Delhi.
The current MLA from the Sangam Vihar assembly constituency, Dinesh Mohaniya, is running for the seat as an AAP candidate. He is competing in the election against Harsh Choudhary of the Congress and Chandan Kumar Choudhary of the BJP.
In the meanwhile, people cast votes for the 8th Assembly under strict security as voting for 70 assembly seats started Wednesday morning in Delhi.
According to authorities, voting will start at 7:00 am and go until 6:00 pm.
New Delhi, Jangpura, Kalkaji, Okhla, Mustafabad, Bijwasan, Kasturba Nagar, Greater Kailash, Patparganj, and so on are among the hotly contested seats.
The AAP, which now controls almost 60 of the assembly’s 70 members, is running for reelection on the strength of its past performance.
Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal (AAP), Parvesh Verma of the BJP, and Sandeep Dikshit of the Congress (son of former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit) are in a high-profile three-way race for the New Delhi seat.
Manish Sisodia of the AAP, Farhad Suri of the Congress, and Tarvinder Singh Marwah of the BJP will compete in Jangpura.
For the 70 assembly constituency seats in the nation’s capital, 699 individuals are running for office.
83,76,173 men, 72,36,560 women, and 1,267 third-gender voters make up Delhi’s 1,56,14,000 registered voters. Additionally, 239,905 first-time voters between the ages of 18 and 19, 109,368 senior citizens 85 and older, and 79,885 people with impairments make up the electorate.
