The US Embassy said this big thing when the migrants were sent back to India by a US military plane

New Delhi: A US Embassy official said that the US is strictly implementing its immigration and border regulations in response to claims of a US military jet sending migrants to India; however, specifics could not be disclosed.

According to the spokeswoman, the acts convey a “clear message that illegal migration is not worth the risk.”

“A lot of people have asked me questions on the story of a trip to India for deportation. While I am unable to provide specifics on such requests, I can state that the United States is aggressively policing its borders, strengthening immigration regulations, and expelling undocumented immigrants. A spokeswoman for the US Embassy said, “These actions send a clear message: illegal migration is not worth the risk.”

A US military jet is deporting migrants to India, the farthest destination for such flights under the Trump administration, according to Reuters, which notably cited US sources in its article.

According to the officer, who asked to remain anonymous, a C-17 plane carrying migrants had taken off but would not arrive in India for another day.

The Pentagon has already started to arrange planes for the deportation of more than 5,000 immigrants detained at US facilities in San Diego, California, and El Paso, Texas.

Military planes have transported migrants to Honduras, Guatemala, and Peru so far.

The costliest method of moving migrants is by military aircraft. A military deportation flight to Guatemala last week probably cost each migrant at least USD 4,675, according to Reuters.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had said on January 24 that it would make it easier for Indian people who were “overstaying” or living in the US or “anywhere in the world” without the required paperwork to return.

MEA spokeswoman Randhir Jaiswal said, “We are against illegal immigration, especially because it is linked to several forms of organized crime,” during a news conference in New Delhi.

He went on, “We will take Indians back if they are overstaying or in a country without the required paperwork, whether they are in the United States or somewhere else in the world, as long as they share their documents with us so we can confirm their nationality and that they are, in fact, Indians. We will proceed and make it easier for them to return to India if that turns out to be the case.
