According to the Guntur DRM, the funding represents an 11-fold increase over prior budgets, underscoring a significant rise in the state’s construction of railway infrastructure.

“Today, a review meeting was held with the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw,” Guntur DRM told ANI. The grant of Rs 9,417 crores for the construction of different railway projects in Andhra Pradesh was the main item on the agenda. This funding is 11 times more than prior amounts.

“The state has so far approved and invested in projects totaling Rs 84,559 crores. Furthermore, 73 train stations are being completely renovated,” he said.

“All infrastructure-related works were carried out under various planned projects in the first year, with an expenditure of approximately Rs 268 crores,” the source said. As of January 31st, we had already spent Rs 244 crores this year.

“To further invest in infrastructure development, we have been given a grant of Rs 370 crores. We anticipate reaching a total capital expenditure of Rs 320 crores by the end of this year, which would demonstrate a steady increase in capital investment,” he said.

He said that Andhra Pradesh had built 1,560 kilometers of new railway lines in the last ten years, surpassing Sri Lanka’s entire railway network.

Eight pairs of Vande Bharat trains are running at the moment. Additionally, Navbharat trains—like Vande Bharat—will be made available nationwide at a cost that is reasonable for travelers. He said that around 7,000 kilometers of outdated railroad rails are being rebuilt nationwide.

Regarding initiatives in the Guntur division, he mentioned the 309-kilometer Nadikudi-Srikalahasti project, which is expected to cost Rs 2,333 crores. Ninety kilometers have already been finished, and 53 more will shortly be finished.

He emphasized that tunnel construction would start the first week of February and that the Guntur-Guntakal doubling project has obtained all required approvals.

According to the official, the land acquisition procedure for the Eru Palem-Amaravati-Namburu railway line has already begun, and earthwork bids should be released in the next five months.

“The Kokkadam-Miryalaguda segment of the Guntur-Bibinagar project has already begun construction. The project is 239 kilometers long overall,” he said.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said earlier on Monday that the nation is a pull factor for global economic development and that the 2025–2026 Union Budget represents the 2047 Viksit Bharat goal.
People across the globe are keeping an eye on India’s progress, CM Naidu remarked, citing his recent trip to Davos, Switzerland.

In the Lok Sabha, Sitharaman unveiled the Union Budget 2025, which outlined a plan for India’s ongoing economic growth with a focus on exports, investment, micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs), and agriculture.

Additionally, she said that no income tax would be due on earnings up to Rs 12 lakh, which would greatly benefit taxpayers, particularly those in the middle class.

“To taxpayers up to Rs 12 lakh of normal income (other than special rate income such as capital gains), a tax rebate is being provided in addition to the benefit due to slab rate reduction in such a manner that there is no tax payable by them,” stated the minister.

The Union Budget was criticized by Congress and other opposition parties for being mute on the issue of unemployment and for “throttling MGNREGA.”
