Andhra Pradesh: Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple decked up with lights and floral decorations for grand Ratha Saptami celebrations
Tirupati: In preparation for Tuesday’s lavish celebration of Ratha Saptami at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, the town of Tirumala in the Tirupati district has been adorned with flower arrangements and electric lights.
With decorations showcasing the temple’s magnificence in honor of the momentous anniversary, the temple town exudes a joyous atmosphere.
In anticipation of the Vahana Sevas, the customary parade of deities on different vehicles, devotees have already begun to swarm the galleries around the temple.
At five in the morning, the parade will start, providing the followers with a spiritual show.
In spite of the frigid temperatures, pilgrims from all across the area have been flocking to take part in the sacred ceremonies.
It is anticipated that the Vahana Sevas would draw a sizable crowd for the Ratha Saptami festivities, making it a day of both devotion and aesthetic pleasure.
In Tirumala, Ratha Saptami is a major festival honoring Lord Surya, the Sun God, and is celebrated with majesty and devotion.
Known as “Surya Jayanti” or “Mini-Brahmotsavam,” this festival commemorates the Sun’s entry into the northern hemisphere and represents vigor, energy, and spiritual enlightenment.
On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Rathasapthami will be commemorated with a number of religious ceremonies and large vahanam processions.
The day-long Vahanam processions, in which Lord Venkateswara is exquisitely decorated and transformed into a variety of heavenly vehicles, each of which has profound spiritual meaning, are the highlight of Rathasaptami.
