Karnataka’s Gadag police have detained two men for allegedly raping and blackmailing a 15-year-old girl
Gadag: Two people have been arrested by the Karnataka Gadag Police for allegedly raping and blackmailing a 15-year-old girl. According to authorities, the suspects have been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
Altaf and Suleman have been named as the defendants. Altaf reportedly captured the event on camera when Suleman allegedly sexually assaulted the kid in December, according to the police. After reportedly threatening the girl with the video, the two allegedly blackmailed her.
The girl told her parents about the event, and they later complained to the Naregal police station in the Gadag district. Since then, the police have detained the suspects and are continuing their investigation.
A unique legislation known as the POCSO Act was created in order to protect minors from sexual exploitation and abuse. It stipulates harsh punishments, including life in jail, for individuals convicted of sexual offenses against minors.
