In honor of Basant Panchami, Tripura CM Manik Saha dedicated a 40-foot-tall Saraswati monument in Agartala
Agartala: On the auspicious festival of Basant Panchami and Saraswati Puja on Sunday, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha presented a magnificent 40-foot statue of Goddess Saraswati in the 40th ward of Agartala Municipal Corporation.

“Everyone keeps waiting for this day, especially students, because it is very important to them,” CM Saha remarked after launching the statue of Goddess Saraswati. I want to convey to the people of Tripura that in order to realize “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,” we must all consider the welfare of others.
Namah, Om Saraswati. I attended the Basant Panchami celebration hosted by Ward No. 40 today and prayed to the goddess Saraswati for the state’s citizens’ blessings. The organizers of the puja honored the local elderly residents during this occasion. In an X post, CM Saha said, “I commend the organizers for such a commendable initiative.”
The Agartala Municipal Corporation’s Ward 40 hosted the Saraswati Puja festival, which attracted thousands of tourists from all across the state.
For the fourth consecutive year, the event, which was organized by the local government, honored mothers and sisters over the age of 70. This year’s celebrations also included a vibrant fair.
The puja has expanded in scope and cultural significance since its start in 2021, making it a much-anticipated and unforgettable event for the neighborhood.
Speaking at the event, Padmanava Saha, a social activist from Bardowali, Agartala, stated, “The 40th Ward of the Agartala Municipal Corporation is one of the most well-known wards. This year is the fourth time we have celebrated Saraswati Puja here, having begun in 2021.
In addition to the puja, we have planned a fair for kids and a celebration for women who are 70 years of age or older. Our honorable Chief Minister Manik Saha officially opened this puja today, and everyone is rejoicing with immense delight and pleasure.”
Earlier in the day, on the auspicious festival of Basant Panchami and Saraswati Puja, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries prayed for knowledge, prosperity, and well-being for the populace.
On Sunday, President Droupadi Murmu also prayed for India to become a center of knowledge worldwide and sent her best wishes on the occasions of Basant Panchami and Saraswati Puja.
On the first day of spring, which coincides with the fifth day of the month of Magha, Hindus celebrate Basant Panchami, also called Vasant Panchami, Shri Panchami, and Saraswati Panchami.
Forty days after the feast, it also marks the beginning of the Holi preparations. The event honors Maa Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of education, music, and the arts.
