Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya criticized Akhilesh Yadav for his comment on Maha Kumbh stampede

Etawah: Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav was criticized by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Sunday for his comments on the Maha Kumbh stampede, accusing him of engaging in “cheap politics” over a significant religious occasion.

The SP supremo’s constant political remarks on the Maha Kumbh, according to Maurya, indicate that his “mental balance has deteriorated” since losing power, even if everyone is devastated by the occurrence.

We are all devastated by the horrible tragedy that occurred in Mahakumbh, but Akhilesh Yadav is always making political remarks and making comments on a significant event like Maha Kumbh,” Maurya told ANI. Repeatedly saying such things is pretty cheap politics. He is saying these things because his mental equilibrium has deteriorated since he was removed from office.

Akhilesh Yadav voiced reservations about the government’s response to the stampede during Wednesday’s Mauni Amavasya bathing ceremony, which left 30 people dead and 60 injured. This prompted the criticism.
Yadav emphasized the unprecedented refusal of Shahi Snan by saints and appealed for the Army to step in and demand quick action. The death toll, he said, had been misreported.

“After twelve years, Maha Kumbh arrives. More significant to us than the budget figures is the number of individuals who perished in the Maha Kumbh stampede. The number of fatalities, missing persons, or injuries is unknown to the authorities. The administration has provided a fictitious death toll. Have you made any arrangements? He stated, “This government claims that we are a Hindu party, but they are unable to organize this major Hindu holiday.”

Yadav went on to criticize, “Is this your definition of a Viksit Bharat that people will die in a stampede?”

A three-person judicial panel was established after the event to look into the stampede and determine what caused it. Within a month, the panel is supposed to turn in its report.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, attacked Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), on Sunday, saying that all of his postings on X during the last two months were critical of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.

Even the Samajwadi Party (SP) has rejected Ram Lalla’s establishment in Ayodhya after all these years. Speaking at a public gathering in the Milkipur Assembly seat, Adityanath said that the SP chief has been tweeting against the Maha Kumbh, the largest spiritual and cultural festival of the century, for the last two months.

The rush happened during Mauni Amavasya, which also commemorated the Second Shahi Snan, when millions of pilgrims congregated at the confluence of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers.

Vaibhav Krishna, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Kumbh, had earlier revealed that the catastrophe had claimed at least 30 lives and wounded 60 more.

Following the event, Prayagraj officials promised to make better preparations for the Basant Panchami (Third Shahi Snan) on February 3.
