Kishan told the media report, “Jhaadu wale ja rahe hain, Modi ji aa rahe hai (the broom is going, Modi ji is coming),” expressing the party’s confidence ahead of the next elections.

Shikha Rai of the BJP will face off against Congress candidate Garvit Singhvi and incumbent AAP MLA and Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj in the Greater Kailash Assembly seat.

A week before Friday’s Delhi Assembly elections, seven Aam Aadmi Party Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) have resigned from the party.

Madan Lal from Kasturba Nagar, Rajesh Rishi from Janakpuri, Bhavna Gaud from Palam, Bhupender Singh June from Bijwasan, Pawan Kumar Sharma from Adarsh Nagar, and Rohit Maharoliya from Trilokpuri are the MLAs who resigned.

Trilokpuri constituency MLA Rohit Kumar Mehraulia resigned from all positions and the Aam Aadmi Party’s main membership, alleging “unfulfilled promises” to improve the lot of the Dalit/Valmiki people.

Similar resignations were made by MLAs Madan Lal of the Kasturba constituency and Bhavna Gaud of the Palam seat, who both said they had “lost faith” in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leader Arvind Kejriwal.

Rajesh Rishi of the Janakpuri constituency resigned from all positions and his main membership in the Aam Aadmi Party, claiming the party has abandoned its core values of accountability, transparency, and corruption-free government.

“The party has strayed from the honest ideology on which the Aam Aadmi Party was founded,” said Pawan Kumar Sharma, who represents the Adrsh Nagar seat. The Aam Aadmi Party’s predicament saddens me much. Accept my resignation, please.

Additionally, Bhupender Singh June of the Bijwasan constituency resigned from both his main membership and his positions. He said that after seeing a “significant deviation” from the ideals and principles upon which the party was established, the decision was made.

February 5 is the day of the Delhi Assembly elections, while February 8 is the date of the vote count.
