Maha Kumbh 2025: Entry of vehicles will be banned from 2 to 4 February on Basant Panchami
Prayagraj: Ravindra Kumar Mandar, DM Prayagraj, made it clear on Friday that vehicles would not be prohibited from entering Prayagraj on January 31, February 1, and February 4.
He clarified that only February 2 and 3 would see the implementation of the divergence strategy. Additionally, he denied the widely circulated rumors that car access will be blocked until February 4.
“A social media post stating that automobiles would not be allowed to enter Prayagraj till February 4 has gone viral. This news is wholly unfounded. The deviating plan was only put into effect on Mauni Amavasya’s busiest day. Nearly all of the believers are now coming back, and the cops are dismantling the divergence plan.
The cops have been told to take down the barriers. No vehicle will be subject to restrictions on January 31, February 1, and February 4.
Only on February 2 and 3, which is Vasant Panchami’s snan, will the divergence system be put into effect. Everyone will be informed by Mela authorities and the DIG about the extremely different procedure for automobiles to enter the Mela Kshetra. Vehicles are not restricted in the Commissionerate area,” he said.
The Yogi government, however, declared on Thursday that VIP mobility was prohibited on significant bathing days. According to a press statement issued by the Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday, special treatment would not be granted to any VIP or VVIP delegations that were scheduled to visit Prayagraj during Vasant Panchami, Magh Purnima, or Mahashivratri, or the day before or following these holidays.
According to a statement, the three-member judicial panel that was established to look into the terrible stampede that killed thirty persons during the Prayagraj Mahakumbh on Mauni Amavasya has formally started its work.
The commission members took up the probe as soon as they got to their office in Janpath, Lucknow, on Thursday.
“Since the investigation is a priority, we have taken charge within hours of the announcement,” said Justice (Retd.) Harsh Kumar, the chairman of the commission.
He said, “Although we have a month to complete the probe, we will make every effort to conclude it as quickly as possible.” Additionally, Justice Kumar affirmed that the committee will soon go to Prayagraj to personally evaluate the situation.
Meanwhile, an on-site examination was carried out in Prayagaraj, UP, by DGP Prashant Kumar, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, and other authorities.
