UAE expresses its deep concern over developments in DRC
Abu Dhabi: The UAE has called for promoting peace and reestablishing stability and has voiced its profound worry over events in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
The death of many foreign peacekeeping troops stationed in the area was denounced by State Minister Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan.
Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan also reaffirmed the need of upholding the ceasefire deal that Rwanda and the DRC signed in August, as well as the necessity of preserving the country’s stability, security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
In order to create trusting relationships and provide a lasting peace and security across the African continent that fulfills the aspirations of the continent’s peoples for peace, stability, and prosperity, Sheikh Shakhboot emphasized the need of committing to a diplomatic solution.
