Seeing the stampede in Maha Kumbh, Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya Ji placed this demand in front of the devotees
Prayagraj: Following a stampede-like scenario in the current Mahakumbh due to heavy crowds, Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya Ji on Wednesday urged all devotees to refrain from insisting on having a plunge at the Sangam Ghat.
Rambhadracharya Ji asked the followers to stay in their camps in a self-produced video.
“I urge all of the devotees to refrain from insisting on having a holy plunge at the Sangam Ghat alone, since there is a sizable throng in Prayagraj today. They should not search for their protection outside of their camps at this time, according to Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya Ji.
Devkinandan Thakur, a spiritual teacher, also urged people to take snan anywhere in the Ganga and Yamuna rather than insisting on bathing at the Sangam Ghat alone.
Because of the enormous number of people there, I chose not to visit Sangam Ghat. I urge everyone not to insist on bathing only at Sangam Ghat. Devkinandan Thakur told ANI, “The whole Ganga and Yamuna rivers are ‘Amrit’ at the moment.
Following the event, the wounded are being transported to the hospital in Sector 2.
On the festival of “Mauni Amavasya,” more than 80 to 100 million devotees congregated in the Sangam Ghats for the “Amrit Snan.” On this day, large masses congregated near Triveni Sangam’s ghats to take a holy bath.
Following the incident at the Sangam during the Mauni Amavasya festivities at the Mahakumbh Mela, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had a conversation with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He also promised him the Center’s complete assistance.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reviewed the situation at the current Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj with Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. Immediate assistance measures were demanded by the prime minister.
On the day of the second Shahi Snan, “Mauni Amavasya,” 80–100 million people are anticipated to attend. February 3 (Basant Panchami—Third Shahi Snan), February 12 (Maghi Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivaratri) are other important bathing days during the Maha Kumbh.
