Following the incident at the Sangam during the Mauni Amavasya festivities at the Mahakumbh Mela, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also talked with Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. He also promised him the Center’s complete assistance.

Instead of trying to travel towards Sangam, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has urged followers not to plunge at the ghat closest to Maa Ganga. He also urged the followers to participate in upholding order and to obey the directives of the government. Additionally, he urged followers to ignore any rumors.

In the meanwhile, Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya Ji urged his followers on Wednesday not to insist on swimming at the Sangam Ghat after a stampede-like scenario caused by enormous people during the current Mahakumbh.

Rambhadracharya Ji asked the followers to stay in their camps in a self-produced video.

“I urge all of the devotees to refrain from insisting on having a holy plunge at the Sangam Ghat alone, since there is a sizable throng in Prayagraj today. They should not search for their protection outside of their camps at this time, according to Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya Ji.

The Akhara Parishad has urged followers to attend the Holy Dip on February 3 in honor of Vasant Panchami; however, the individual Akharas have also canceled the event for the day.

“Akhara Parishad and all the acharyas have decided that we will not do snaan’ today due to the large and indispensable crowds,” said Niranjani Akhara Chief Kailashanand Giri Maharaj. We must remember the issues that the average person faces. According to Indian customs, saints always pray and strive for everyone’s welfare. Considering that, every Akhara has consented to forego having a holy plunge today. On Vasant Panchami, we shall gladly take a holy plunge.

“We are saddened by the incident that took place,” said Ravindra Puri, president of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad. Thousands of devotees were present. We have chosen to exclude the Akharas from today’s Snan in the benefit of the people. Instead of today, I urge everyone to attend for a Snan on Vasant Panchmi. Devotees should immerse themselves anywhere they see the Holy Ganga, but they wanted to reach Sangam Ghat, which is also why the tragedy occurred. The government is not to blame; managing crores of people is not simple. “We ought to assist the authorities.”

The event occurs when a large group of worshippers assemble at the Sangam Ghats for the ‘Amrit Snan’ in honor of ‘Mauni Amavasya.’

On the day of the second Shahi Snan, “Mauni Amavasya,” 80–100 million people are anticipated to attend. February 3 (Basant Panchami—Third Shahi Snan), February 12 (Maghi Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivaratri) are other important bathing days during the Maha Kumbh.
