US President Donald Trump joke if he could contest the next presidential election in 2028

Florida: US President Donald Trump made a joke about running for president in 2028 while speaking to Republican members of Congress in Miami, Florida.

Even though he was inaugurated on January 20, Trump said in an optimistic address that he had collected money for the next presidential election.

“I think I can’t utilize the large amount of money I’ve earned for the next race for myself. However, I’m not certain since I believe I’m not permitted to run again. “Can I go running again?” he asked.

But according to ABC News, Trump is not allowed to seek a third term or call off the 2028 election.

Even if Trump attempted to violate the US Constitution’s 22nd Amendment, which states that “no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice,” he would most likely be rejected by the courts and election authorities, according to ABC News.

“We would want to congratulate the Republican majority in our reelected House on receiving the highest popular vote since 1928. We set records as we stormed through all of the swing states, including Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada. All 50 states switched to the Republican Party for the first time; this has never happened before. Including 39% of black males, we garnered the most African-American votes in Republican history. And we received more votes from Hispanic Americans than any Republican in history,” Trump said after winning the election.

Trump said that he will “shatter” the First New Deal, which was implemented by previous US President Franklin Roosevelt.

Roosevelt instituted what historians call the “First New Deal” during his first 100 days in office, from 1933 to 1935. It was centered on the “3 R’s”: helping the poor and unemployed, getting the economy back to normal, and reforming the financial system to avoid another depression.

“In a political earthquake, we achieved unprecedented victories for voters. We were given Michigan by labor unions, which included a sizable number of auto workers. We are dismantling Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal alliance, which controlled global politics for more than a century, in tandem with the new political majority,” he said.

Trump said that Republicans had evolved into the unifying voice of all Americans under his direction.

“The Republican Party has evolved into the proud voice of industrious Americans of all races, religions, colors, and creeds under our leadership. We are now the party of wealth creation and the American Dream, not simply the wealthy. In addition to the House Republicans being reelected and gaining a larger majority in 2026, if we do our duties over the next 21 months, we will solidify the national governing coalition that will protect American freedom for future generations,” he said.
Trump went on to say how pleased he is with the overwhelming amount of support he has gained.

“The political events of the last several years are unlike anything that has ever occurred. “It seems like everyone is with us,” he remarked.
