More than 20 people were injured when a watchtower collapsed in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh
Baghpat: More than 20 people were hurt when a watchtower fell in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday.
The event happened during the ‘Laddu Mahotsav‘ that the Jain community was organizing in Baraut city, which is in the Baghpat district.
The police administration is keeping an eye on the situation as a rescue mission is in progress at the location.
Arpit Vijayvargiya, the superintendent of police in Baghpat, told reporters that two to three persons were gravely hurt in the event and were being treated at the hospital.
“During the Jain community’s ‘Laddu Mahotsav’ celebration in Baraut, the watchtower fell. Teams from the police, administration, and fire department were at the scene right away following the event. The injured were sent to hospitals in the area. Twenty to twenty-five persons were hurt. Two to three persons are receiving treatment after suffering severe injuries. Reporters were informed by Baghpat SP.
Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, has acknowledged the disaster and instructed authorities to go on the scene right once in order to accelerate the rescue efforts.
Additionally, CM Yogi provided guidelines for the appropriate care of the wounded. In addition, he wished the wounded people a quick recovery.
