IndiGo flight (6E 1303) from Mumbai to Doha was delayed by 18 hours due to this reason
Though a Sunday technical snag led to a delay of almost 18 hours for an Indigo flight (6E 1303) from Mumbai to Doha, this caused inconvenience to the persons onboard. The flight was expected to commence at 3:55 A.M. but where it finally took off is close to 9:30 P.M.
According to a passenger, Dr. Tanuja Shet, who spoke to HT, the crew noticed an unusually foul odor in the cabin within a short time after the flight commenced the taxiing.
The passengers continued to stay inside the cabin even after the Aircraft was pushed to the bay for over three hours. “I have a connecting to a conference in Doha but because the flight was delayed I missed that connecting flight. After some time I was advised to wait on the hotel where the staff had provided an airline with cold food and drink. They were taken back to the airport before departure.
Leave to bring them on board was given to one more passenger, a Dr. M. Kandalkar, who was also on flight when the passengers were delayed. The situation was very troublesome for small children. “They kept us waiting inside the flight claiming another flight would be arranged,” said a another passenger who wished to remain anonymous. But no such flight was appointed.
Some of the passengers as well had some of the harshest words directed towards the ground crew of Indigo.
IndiGo apologised for the inconveniences of which it has become a duty towards the passengers. A spokesperson for the company said, there was a technical hold up with IndiGo flight 6E 1303.
“Our airport staff quickly assisted the affected customers. The aircraft also made some attempts to head off to its destination only to be called off eventually due to a long hold off that was brought about by the procedural hold ups. Customers are currently being accommodated in hotels and their bookings are being adjusted to suit their final destinations.”
