Former Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai accuses Congress of making Constitution ineffective
Haveri: Basavaraj Bommai, the former chief minister of Karnataka, recently said that the Congress was demeaning the court for “selfish gains” and rendering the constitution useless. He said that in order to maintain its hold on power, the Congress had changed the Constitution many times, thereby “killing the Constitution.”
He was addressing the Constitution Awareness Campaign at a lecture held at Shivashakti Palace on Thursday by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
According to Bommai, “Congress insulted Dr. Ambedkar by saying ‘Jai Bhim’ and Mahatma Gandhi by saying ‘Jai Bapu.'” Rahul Gandhi destroyed previous Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh’s attempts to enact legislation to combat corruption. This illustrates how Congress upholds the Constitution.
The previous chief minister emphasized that Dr. Ambedkar was not given a license to practice law when he returned from outside. “Ambedkar was made a professor by Siddappa Kambali of Karnataka. Throughout his life, Ambedkar had received several insults from Congress. The ideals of Congress were quite different from Ambedkar’s philosophy. Ambedkar and former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru did not get along, and Congress is now attempting to make up for the offenses it inflicted. “The moral decay of the Congress has begun,” he said.
According to Bommai, the BJP was responsible for raising knowledge of the Constitution. According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who views the Constitution as a hallowed instrument, he has sought to alter it to ensure fairness for everyone while advancing the country’s social and economic progress.
“The BJP has an obligation to uphold the Constitution. The top BJP leader said that the Congress is deluded into believing that propaganda would assist in their return to power.
Bommai further criticized Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the AICC, for insulting the liberation fight by drawing comparisons between Priyanka Gandhi and Kittur Rani Chennamma.
Govind Karjol, a BJP MP, said that the Congress was deceiving the nation and changing the Constitution for its own benefit.
“For inclusive development, the Congress changed the Constitution 75 times, while previous Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee changed it 14 times and Modi changed it eight times. “Modi introduced changes for equality in education and employment in Jammu and Kashmir, while Vajpayee worked to improve job reservations for Dalits,” he remarked.
The Congress was also criticized by former Minister BC Patil for failing to provide land for Ambedkar’s monument at the time of his death. He called the current Congress “fake” and said that the only party that upholds the constitution is the BJP.
“Ambedkar’s name is now being used for political purposes by the Congress, which won the election. The present Congress is a phony replica of the Congress that existed during Gandhi’s time. The only party that really upholds the Constitution is the BJP,” he said.
“The world should never forget the attacks on the Constitution by the Congress and the insults directed at Ambedkar,” said P Rajeev, the general secretary of the BJP state. He also accuses Indira Gandhi of denying people their freedom by invoking an emergency under the Constitution.
Additionally, he said that Congress often overthrows non-Congress administrations even when it has the backing of the majority.
Despite having the Constitution in his hands, Rahul Gandhi has never read it, according to Rajeev.
Gavisiddappa Dyamannavar, a BJP politician, gave an opening address to kick off the program. Former State Leather Corporation chairman DS Malagi and former MLA Virupakshappa Ballari were among the other speakers. There were other notable figures in attendance, including Chandrappa Harijan, Kalyan Kumar Shettar, Bhojaraj Karudi, Shobha Nissim Gowdar, Basavaraj Chalageri, and former MLA Shivaraj Sajjanar.
This follows a Congress function on January 21 in Belagavi, Karnataka. Today, the ‘Jai Babu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan’ demonstration was conducted in Belagavi to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Nava Satyagraha Baithak, which took place in 1924 and was presided over by Mahatma Gandhi in his role as president of the Congress.
