Trains and flights affected after temperature drops in Delhi
New Delhi: Because of the ongoing fog, a number of trains and airplanes from New Delhi were delayed Friday at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the city’s lowest recorded temperature was 11 degrees Celsius.
The fog prevented vision in the images from ITO, India Gate, Dhaula Kuan, and Kartavya Path.
Additionally, images showed people seeking refuge in camps established by the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) around the city.
According to a manager of one of the shelter sites, those in need of refuge were given access to everything from food to medication.
“Those who are come here to seek refuge have access to all amenities. We cordially invite anybody from the outside to take refuge if they also arrive,” the management said.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was 207 at 7 a.m. this morning.
Additionally, a thin layer of fog covered a number of Uttar Pradesh cities, including Varanasi and Ayodhya. According to IMD, the lowest temperature ever recorded in Varanasi and Ayodhya was 10 degrees Celsius.
Later in the day, Varanasi was also forecast to have clear skies, according to IMD. The weather has altered over the last two days, according to a Varanasi native.
Speaking to ANI, the local stated, “It has been very cold since the last two days and there is a lot of fog also…”
