Uttar Pradesh government issued advisory regarding fire safety for all camps in Maha Kumbh Mela
Prayagraj: On Monday, the Uttar Pradesh government issued a fire safety caution for all of the camps participating in the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.
In the event of a fire or other emergency, the advice urged individuals to contact the Mela control and local police and fire stations at 112, 1920, 1090, or the numbers provided by the ICCC.
It is requested that noise be produced in the event of a fire in order to warn the tents close to exercise caution.
“During an emergency, remain calm and work with a cool mind, using the nearest fire-fighting equipment from a safe distance, without putting yourself in danger, to attempt extinguishing the fire,” the advice continues.
In the event of a fire, devotees must know the closest escape routes and use them.
Make sure your firefighting equipment is properly identified so that it can be utilized to put out the fire.
It also says, “Keep a sufficient supply of water and sand close to the tent so that you can use them to put out a fire if it starts.”
In order to stop the fire from spreading, authorities urge that children be evacuated as soon as possible and advise that the tent’s ropes or threads be cut down.
“Make every effort to extinguish the fire using available water, sand, or any fire-fighting equipment as soon as possible,” it said.
Officials advised that in the event of a gas cylinder fire, people should try to maintain the cylinder upright, leave the area, and use a wet cloth or fire extinguisher to put out the fire while also preventing any gas leaks.
Additionally, until emergency personnel came and assisted people in leaving the area, residents were advised to do all in their power to combat the fire.
Additionally, the warning advised against keeping combustible items inside the tent, including gasoline, kerosene, fuel, gas, and candles.
“Avoid burying gas cylinders in the ground or using non-standard or leaky cylinders within the tent. Never construct a tent out of synthetic materials or plastic. It says, “Avoid using open fires inside the tent, such as stoves or havan kunds.
“Never add oil to burning lamps, stoves, or gas burners, and do not store petrol or other highly flammable materials and avoid cooking food outdoors during strong winds,” it said.
In addition, the notification urged individuals to put aiding others before filming a fire event.
This comes after the police said on Sunday that a cylinder blow was responsible for the fire that started at a camp during the Maha Kumbh Mela, which was being hosted in Prayagraj. The conflagration was further contained.
In the meanwhile, almost 2 million worshippers have already taken a sacred plunge in Prayagraj’s Triveni Sangam.
