In an interview with the media report, Majumdar attacked the Kolkata Police for their poor case management, which led to the destruction of important evidence.

“Everyone is optimistic that the court will provide a fair decision and treat the matter fairly…No evidence was left at the scene because of the Kolkata Police’s severe case management errors. Thus, we now expect that the matter will be decided fairly and that the offenders will face consequences,” the BJP leader said.

Widespread demonstrations were triggered by the case, which includes the rape and murder of a trainee doctor whose corpse was discovered in the hospital’s lecture room on August 9. Following the event, Sanjay Roy, the primary suspect and a hospital civic volunteer, was taken into custody in relation to the crime.

Kunal Ghosh, the leader of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), reaffirmed the party’s call for the accused to be executed on Friday.

Ghosh emphasized the swift police response’ and the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) confirmation of the accused’s guilt in an interview with ANI after the judgment.

“We hope the individual who was arrested within 24 hours of the tragedy and who was found guilty by the CBI gets found guilty by the court and given the death sentence. Our Chief Minister has called for the death penalty for this horrible act from day one,” Ghosh said.

Ghosh emphasized the case’s seriousness by calling it a “social crime” that cuts beyond party boundaries. “This is a social problem rather than a political one. “We expect the accused to be given the death penalty for crimes like this,” he said.

The RG Kar rape-murder case has received a lot of attention, and calls for severe punishment have been fueled by popular indignation. West Bengal was stunned by the tragedy, which has since become a major topic of political and social discussion.
