IMD has predicted light rain and dense fog in Prayagraj region today
Prayagraj: The Prayagraj area, the site of the Maha Kumbh, is expected to experience partly cloudy skies, light rain, and dense to very dense fog on Thursday, January 16, according to the India Meteorological Department.
The India Meteorological Department has released the Prayagraj region’s weather forecast, warning, and advisory for January 16, 2025.
“The region is likely to have a partly cloudy sky with light rain and dense to very dense fog (00-200 m) at some places during late night/morning,” IMD stated on X.
On Thursday morning, the fourth day of the 45-day Maha Kumbh, thousands of pilgrims swam in the holy water at Triveni Sangam, a revered confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and “mystical” Saraswati rivers.
The largest religious gathering in the world has attracted over 6 crore followers, with over 3.5 crore attending Makar Sankranti on January 14.
The Prayagraj administration has set up an AI-based digital lost and found center in response to the enormous flood of pilgrims.
Additional Mela Adhikari Vivek Chaturvedi provided ANI with information regarding the center, saying, “An AI-based lost and found center has been set up.” There, plans are made for the lost individuals’ lodging, clothing, and nourishment. We have successfully reunited lost individuals and children with their families in every single instance. The computerized lost and found center has responded to us well. The administration transports the individual to their home at its own expense if we are unable to reconcile them with their family.
A 21-member delegation from 10 nations reached Arail Tent City in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday. At Triveni Sangam, the delegation is expected to take a sacred bath.
The group will take a holy bath at Triveni Sangam on Thursday after being invited by the Ministry of External Affairs’ External Publicity and Public Diplomacy Division.
Fiji, Finland, Guyana, Malaysia, Mauritius, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Trinidad & Tobago, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are among the countries represented in the visiting party. This demonstrates the widespread enthusiasm in this religious occasion, which represents India’s rich spiritual and cultural legacy.
The delegation will explore Prayagraj’s rich cultural and historical legacy by taking part in a heritage walk while there. During a helicopter journey, they will also take in a panoramic vista of the Mahakumbh region. For their convenience, plans have also been arranged for dinner and rest at the tent city.
According to the statement, this year’s Mahakumbh, which is led by the Yogi government, has garnered international interest. The Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation has organized lodging for them in the Tent City in Arail.
January 13 marked the start of Maha Kumbh, which will last through February 26. January 29 (Mauni Amavasya, Second Shahi Snan), February 3 (Basant Panchami, Third Shahi Snan), February 12 (Maghi Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivaratri) are the following important bathing dates.
