Hardeep Singh Mundian expressed grief over the demise of Gurpreet Gogi
Ludhiana: On Saturday, Punjab Minister Hardip Singh Mundian lamented the passing of AAP leader and Ludhiana MLA Gurpreet Gogi, stating that Gogi was like an older brother to him and that the party and he both suffered a loss.
“We received very unfortunate news of Gurpreet Gogi’s demise,” Mundian told the reporters. As far as we know, it was an accident. Both the party and I personally lose. He resembled an older sibling.
Aman Arora, the Punjab Minister, also conveyed his sorrow at Gogi’s passing and sent his condolences to his bereaved family.
“Shocked and heartbroken by the loss of Sh. Gurpreet Gogi Bassi, MLA from Ludhiana,” Arora said in a post on X. I send the bereaved family my sincerest sympathies at this trying time. I hope they have the fortitude to bear this heartbreaking loss. I ask the Almighty to grant his honorable soul everlasting peace.
Gurpreet Gogi, an MLA for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), inadvertently shot himself and was discovered dead with gunshot wounds late on Sunday night, according to a Punjab Police officer.
Gogi was taken to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMC) after the event, which allegedly happened at approximately 12 am, and was pronounced dead there.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jaskaran Singh Teja told the reporters, “According to the family, he shot himself by mistake and was shot in the head. Gurpreet Gogi was pronounced dead at the hospital, and his remains are being held at the DMC hospital morgue.
The DCP also said that upon receipt of the post-mortem report, the cause of death will be ascertained.
“The cause of the death will be clear once the post-mortem reports come,” said the DCP.
According to authorities, the MLA was pronounced dead when he arrived at DMC hospital after the incident, which happened at approximately midnight.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jaskaran Singh, “The incident happened around midnight, and he was declared dead when he was brought to the DMC hospital.”
In 2022, Gogi joined the Aam Aadmi Party and won the Ludhiana assembly elections, defeating Bharat Bhushan Ashu, a two-time previous Congress MLA.
