Prayagraj: Ahead of the MahaKumbh 2025, which is set to begin in Prayagraj next week, devotees took a sacred bath in the Ganga at Sangam Ghat. The city was enveloped in a dense fog in the chilly weather.

To improve security, the Uttar Pradesh Police have set around 2,700 AI-enabled cameras and used underwater drones in and around the Maha Kumbh camping region.

On the second day of his journey to Prayagraj, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had also launched electric buses called ‘Atal Seva’ and special shuttle buses of the Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation.

Over 45 crore people are anticipated for the celebration of the Maha Kumbh, which is being held after a 12-year hiatus.

Devotees will congregate at the Sangam, the meeting point of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the now-extinct Saraswati, to take a sacred bath during the Maha Kumbh. On February 26, the Maha Kumbh will come to an end.
On January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3 (Basant Panchami), the Kumbh’s principal bathing ceremonies (Shahi Snan) will be held.
