After the tragic stampede during Vaikunta Ekadasi ticket distribution in Tirupati in which six people lost their lives

Tirupati: Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that if the government and police had acted methodically, the tragic stampede that occurred during the Vaikuntha Ekadashi ticket distribution in Tirupati, which resulted in six fatalities and numerous injuries, could have been prevented.

Despite the expected turnout, Reddy blamed the tragedy on inadequate preparation and coordination, accusing the government of ignoring the issue.

Every year, Vaikuntha Ekadashi is anticipated to draw a large throng. Why weren’t the ticket counters properly organized? Why wasn’t security implemented? If the police and government had taken a methodical approach, this catastrophe may have been prevented. The police, district administration, and TTD had all fallen short of their duties. Even though the throng was anticipated, the tragedy was caused by inadequate preparation and organization, according to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Reddy spoke with stampede victims in Tirupati on Thursday.

Chandrababu Naidu, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, had already promised contract employment and an ex gratia of Rs 25 lakh for the surviving family members. On Friday, the wounded will also have special darshan at the shrine.

The declaration was made after CM Naidu’s visit to the scene of the January 8 stampede, which claimed six lives and injured about 40 more.

“The relatives of the dead will get a contract for employment and Rs 25 lakhs ex gratia.” Tomorrow, darshan would be given to 35 wounded sufferers, the CM said.

Regarding the occurrence, Naidu promised that a judicial inquiry would be mandated in order to carry out a comprehensive probe and provide an in-depth report.

“A judicial investigation into the occurrence will be mandated in order to provide a comprehensive report. Arunadh Reddy, the director of Goshala, and one police officer have been suspended. “SP, AEO Gautami, and another individual are being moved,” he said.

Naidu also admitted that the crowd control security measures had “failed.”.

“I’m not pointing fingers. For the last 45 years, I have been involved in politics. Although security was put in place, further safety measures had to have been implemented. The deployed authorities were unsuccessful. This would not have occurred if they had freed them 30 minutes or an hour earlier. “There needs to be more coordination,” the chief minister said.

A stampede that started during the ticket distribution on Wednesday night in Tirupati resulted in the deaths of six individuals. The accident also wounded forty additional people.
