According to further sources, the meeting would be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Amit Shah and JP Nadda, as well as BJP National President Rajnath Singh and other members of the CEC.

AAP leaders former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Atishi are running in triangular battles for their seats after the BJP earlier announced its initial list of 29 candidates for the Delhi assembly polls, setting the scene for multi-cornered contests on multiple seats in the city.

Some of the BJP’s heavyweights entered the race. Manjinder Singh Sirsa from Rajouri Garden, former Delhi Congress head Arvinder Singh Lovely from Gandhi Nagar, and Dushyant Gautam from Karol Bagh will all run.

Kejriwal will face up against Parvesh Verma, a former MP and the son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma, for the New Delhi seat. The son of former Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit, Sandeep Dikshit, has been put up by the Congress for the position.

In opposition to Atishi, the BJP put forward Ramesh Bidhuri, a former Kalkaji MP. Alka Lamba, a former MLA, is the candidate put forth by Congress.

On February 5, the Delhi assembly elections will be conducted in a single phase, and on February 8, the results will be counted.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), meanwhile, has stepped up its campaigning for the assembly elections. The BJP candidates expressed confidence that the double-engine government will form the next government in Delhi and specifically attacked Arvind Kejriwal, who was imprisoned for his suspected involvement in the Delhi excise policy case.

The BJP has gone all guns blazing, accusing the AAP leaders of misgovernance and corruption.

The AAP, which is aiming for a third term, will improve its “performance” in the fields of health and education. In the 2020 assembly elections, the BJP won eight seats while the AAP won 62 of the 70 seats.
