Amidst the sexual harassment controversy, CM MK Stalin said this
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said that his administration will support the victim of the alleged sexual assault case at Anna University.
To emphasize his point and reiterate the government’s commitment to obtaining justice for the victim, Stalin emphasized that the accused was taken into custody soon after the occurrence.
During the winter session, Stalin addressed the Tamil Nadu legislature, saying, “Members have spoken here by mentioning one University’s name.” But I don’t want to bring up its name or bring it into disrepute. because he merely created us all.
I am putting that name away with that feeling. What happened to a kid in Chennai is unacceptable to everyone. It is cruel to sexually attack a pupil. Members of the legislature have discussed the matter here. Everyone has spoken here with genuine care, with the exception of one. Stalin said, “This one person has spoken to paint this administration in a negative way.
He also made fun of the opposition for making the event a political issue.
“This government’s only goal is to support the victim in obtaining legal justice. The government may have been held accountable for the crime if the accused had been rescued or had not been taken into custody right after. Blaming the government only serves political ends, he added, even if the accused is apprehended quickly and proof is gathered.
“Who is that, sir?” asks the opposition. Please provide the SIT looking into the situation with any evidence you may have. He urged the opposition to refrain from engaging in low-cost endeavors for ephemeral political gain.
CM Stalin said that one event cannot be seen as proof that women are in danger and reiterated his government’s commitment to their protection.
“When it comes to crimes against women, our administration is strict. Many are attempting to demonstrate that women are dangerous with this one occurrence. Without a doubt, this won’t work with people,” he said.
The DMK administration has been accused by a number of political groups of being tardy to address the sexual assault issue at Anna University.
According to Chennai Police, a second-year Anna University student was reportedly sexually assaulted on the campus in December. In relation to the case, one individual has been taken into custody.
The woman complained to police on December 23 that she was sexually assaulted and threatened by an unidentified male while she was on campus chatting with a buddy.
